Process:
1.Begin exploring different mixed media artists and really looking into depth of what mixed media is.
2.Once having looked into some mixed media artists and some of there works, start thinking about what message you want your art piece to deliver.
3.After having an idea of the message that you want to convey onto the artwork think about what materials would help emphasize and construct on your theme for your piece.
Meaning Behind the piece-
The message I try to convey through my piece is how happiness should not be based on superficial aspects rather on the intangible things in life, because real happiness is linked to having love in your life, without love real happiness is something that cannot be obtained. The image is formed by coins representing the tendency of people wanting to obtain happiness with money and overlooking the true happiness of life which is love, affection with others. For this reason their is an incomplete heart built with coins and in it can be found a tear because it is not possible to put a price on happiness. In this case the heart is the symbolism for happiness and the money represents the greed as well as the many different colors of sequins.
Artist Inspiration:
The artist that inspired me to create my art piece was Robert Rauschenberg. Most specifically I got inspired by his artwork of 1959 titled "Canyon".Canyon features amongst its mixed media pieces of wood, a pillow,a mirror and a stuffed bald eagle. On this artwork there are lots of different objects incorporated and the meaning of the artpiece is not straightforward the viewer really has to reflect on it.It I also chose to incorportae dull colors as well as bright colors.
