Artist Inspiration:

To start off my piece I began by sketching it on a normal piece of white paper I used an image I had of myself as a sort of guideline. The image I picked was a picture were I was as my natural self with my puffy curly hair.Form this image I added flowers to the top of my head which was as an inspiration of Frida Kahlo this is how she revelaeds her proud mexican heritage.I originally had planned to just use color pencils to create the image but the colors werent that bold and I really wanted something vibrant i decided to use the paint program to be able to add these colors in all the ways i wanted creating a coloful image.

For my artist inspiration for this piece I used Frida Kahlo because all of Frida's work reveals her proud multicultural background, one of these cultures being mexican she made her art the most vibrant she could by using colors with a strong value.Since I wanted to express my proud mexican heritage I decided what better way to do this than by including these aspects that Frida had on her paintings such as flowers on her hair which were unique of the mexican culture. Her artwork which was done in 1938 titled "The Frame" was the artwork on which I specifically got inspired Its just so full of life withe its colors and reveals strong culture .
