Exhibition Text:For my studio 1 project I decided to create a block print this was inspired by Picassos cubist period. The image I developed is a stairway that is going up to the sky.On the left hand corner there is a girl that appears under what is an illusion of a rainbow there are raindrops that come down from a cloud located above the rainbow which provides a sense of irony. The raindrops are never able to reach her because she is protected by the rainbow structure .With the stairway there are stair sectors that are thicker than some this shows the idea how in life to reach ones goals there will always be more rough patches to go through and easier ones. This could easily be a symbol of life itself thus the stairway could be interpreted as going up or coming down so that is life we have our downhill moments and uphill moments.

These are some of the many trials I had to accomplish to be able to obtain my resulting piece. For my final piece I decided to add a filter that was available with my computer which made the white edges appear slightly blue giving it that appeal of galaxy which helped complement with the meaning of my art piece.

Artist Inspiration:
For my art piece I got inspired by the cubist movement. Most specifically Picasso's cubism period. His use of geometrical figures and the way that he uses space really inspired me to want to be able to create a block print with that sense.
