Process:
To begin I brainstormed some ideas on how to show plants and convey a bigger message.I decided I wanted to do another piece focusing on plants because I really enjoyed doing my last piece that was centralized on plants as well.I began by looking for more images of flowers I had and I took that as a guideline to the sketching of my idea.I wanted to add lots of more color to this piece. As seen in the bottom there is an enclosed area with red color and an enclosed area with a bright yellow towards the top within that enclosed area is an orange color this is showing the primary colors unifying into a secondary color. The meaning of the piece is reflecting how separation does not mean termination. The shoot of the plant is composed by the flower the stem and the leaves the stem is separate from the plant yet still seems to be complete and is essentially growing whole once again.Having for example a divorce or when a child goes to college away from home is a tough separation because they're part of your life but one has to learn in life to be unified by oneself.
Artist Inspiration:
I For my artist inspiration it once again was the local Milwaukee artist Jamie Bilgo Bruchman. Most specifically her art piece titled "Monkey Flower".I chose this artwork as inspiration thud the use of pastels and dull colors and the way she complemented both made me want to opt for a similar choice of colors because it stands out.I used the similar technique of very smooth brushstrokes.
Act Reflection Questions:
1.)Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your artwork.I was able to see how by viewing her choice of colors I assimilated a combination of these and how I opted for smooth brushstrokes techniques to create the figures I wanted.
2.)What is the overall approach (point of view) the author (from your research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?I love plants and was excited to see them in art form thus I had been studying deeply their composition in art and like seeing them in a more abstract view.
3.)What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspiration?I have discovered how one can centralize on many or just one living thing to create art as well as nonliving things and be able to create a different perspective.
4.)What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research? The central idea was once again plants
5.)What kind of inferences (conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your research? While reading Jamie Bruchman artists statement I was able to acknowledge she
